Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Ocylo collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Ocylo ("Ocylo", "we", "us") runs the website at ocylo.com and the Ocylo app. We are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
If you have a question about privacy, email us at hello@ocylo.com.
What we collect
When you join early access
Your email address, your first name if you give it, the country where you sell (Canada or the United States), the language you were using on our site, and the referral code of the person who invited you, if any. We create a referral code for you after you confirm your address. Only eligible new sign-ups with confirmed email addresses count as referrals.
When you use the Ocylo app
Your account details, and the business information you choose to save: the people you work with, notes, follow-ups, posts and drafts, your shop page and your stock records.
When a customer uses a seller's shop page
If you send a question through a seller's shop page, we collect what you type, such as your name and message, and pass it to that seller.
Automatically
Basic technical information our hosting provider records when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We store your language preference in your browser. Secure session cookies keep you signed in and let you view your verified early-access status. Sign-up and referral records are stored on our servers. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal information.
How we use it
- To run early access: hold your place in line, credit eligible verified referrals and send updates about your place.
- To provide the app and keep your data safe and available to you.
- To answer your messages and give support.
- To keep our service secure and prevent abuse, including fake or automated sign-ups.
- To meet legal obligations.
We only send you email about your spot, your account and important service changes unless you agree to receive other updates. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time using the link in the email.
Your customers' information
When you use Ocylo to keep notes about your customers, prospects or team, you decide what to save and why. We store and process that information on your behalf to provide the service to you. You are responsible for having a valid reason and any consent needed to keep that information and to contact those people. We do not sell your contact list or use it for our own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run Ocylo, such as website hosting, database hosting and email delivery. They may only use your information to provide their service to us. Some of these providers store information in the United States or other countries, so it may be subject to the laws of those places. We may also share information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy will continue to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep early-access and app records while needed to provide the service, maintain referral records and prevent abuse. Unsubscribing stops waitlist emails but does not delete your records. To request account closure or deletion, email hello@ocylo.com. Support verifies ownership before processing a request. We may retain records where needed for security, legal obligations or resolving disputes.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to email at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law. To make a request, email hello@ocylo.com. We verify requests and respond as required by applicable law.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local privacy regulator.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls and careful choice of providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
Children
Ocylo is for adults running a business. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will update the date above and tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
